EMERGENCY services were called to a country village after a van was targeted by arsonists.
The vehicle was well alight when firefighters arrived at the scene in Combe Florey, near Bishops Lydeard, following a number of calls from passing motorists at around 10.15pm yesterday (Wednesday).
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "The fire, which was started deliberately and well alight on our arrival, was soon under control, with firefighters using two breathing apparatus, compressed air foam, hose reel jets and tools to extinguish it.
"Once the vehicle and scene was made safe, duty of care was left with the police."
