IN A BID to tackle night-time trouble makers, 24 nighttime venues clubbed together to form an alliance.
In 1999, Pubwatch was formed, which linked together 24 premises by pager.
The aim was to communicate with each other to deter anti-social behaviour.
LVA chairman, Dave Jones, said the scheme would allow pager-holders to send detailed messages and descriptions to one another for as little as 5p a time. This would tackle the ‘one or two per cent’ of unruly drinkers.
He said: “We don’t need them in our pubs and they’ll soon discover they aren’t welcome under Pubwatch.”
