YOUNGSTERS were out dragon hunting in Somerset as part of a week of special events.
Pupils at Langford Budville CE Primary School took part in a dragon hunt during World Book Week, part of a series of events aimed at encouraging them to read and share books with each other.
As well as the hunt, activities included a character day, where the children dressed up as their favourite book characters, a book talk activity giving an opportunity to all children to share their most favourite book and try to persuade others to read it too, book at bedtime, now a well-supported tradition at Langford, which saw more than 30 pupils come back to school in colourful onesies and sleeping bags to snuggle up and enjoy stories with hot chocolate and cookies.
A school spokesperson said: "Damson our reading dog also visited and enjoyed listening to our readers and during the week there were plenty of opportunities to DEAR - drop everything and read!"
