MORE rubbish has been dumped in a Taunton road - just days after a previous flytipping incident.

The old freezer and various other items left in Canal Road earlier this week had still not been cleared by the time Alan Garbutt came across more rubbish yesterday (Thursday).

And a mobile number had been scrawled on a pallet left in a trailer apparently abandoned in the road. It is uncertain whose number it is and whether that person is responsible for the flytipping.

The County Gazette has tried ringing the number but there has been no response.

Mr Garbutt said: "Perhaps some sleuth at Taunton Deane Borough Council can find out who it is.

"Regardless, by not cleaning up, the council is sending a message to offenders that they don’t care and that offenders can carry on breaking the law without fear of prosecution.

"When is the council you going to take action and reinstate the cameras, pavements and posts and fences in Canal Road to stop people using our town as a dump? Please do something."
