TRAIN services to Taunton were disrupted yesterday afternoon (Thursday) following a series of incidents.
British Transport Police officers were called out to the line close to the station following a concern for a woman's welfare shortly after 4pm.
And a response to an inquiry to National Rail about delays said there had been "faults on a train, animals on the line and train crew being delays".
There were reports from people in the area of a train's horn being sounded and people running down the track.
A BTP spokesman told the County Gazette: "Shortly after 4pm yesterday officers were called to the line close to Taunton station following a concern for the welfare of a woman.
"The woman was removed from harm and later taken to a place of safety."
A statement from National Rail said: "There were various delays on lines around that area due to faults on a train, animals on the line and train crew being delayed."
