PEOPLE looking to conduct their post-related business in Taunton town centre will not be able to next month.
The town's current Post Office, based at former shop The County Stores, is set to close on March 29.
County Stores closed on January 19 earlier this year, but the Post Office announced it would be able to stay open temporarily.
But as that deadline looms closer, no replacement location has yet been found.
A Post Office spokesperson, said: “The Postmaster for Taunton has resigned and the premises, that we do not own, will be withdrawn from Post Office use from March 29 at 5.30pm.
"The shop, where the branch is based, has already closed. The nearest alternative branches are at Station Road and Mountfields."
But the search continues for a new location, and the Post Office is asking any retailer or business owner to get in touch if they are able to run or corporate the business.
The spokesperson added: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of Taunton Post Office. We understand how important a Post Office is to a community and we would like to reassure customers that we are working hard to try restore a Post Office in that area.
"Any retailer or small business owner interested in running the Post Office and incorporating it into their business should email NTquestions@postoffice.co.uk.”
