A POLICE officer has posted an image of a large knife that he and his colleague were threatened with while attending a call in a bid to raise awareness of knife crime.
PC Sam Donati posted the picture on Facebook following an incident on April 2 and urged anyone with information about someone who habitually carries a knife to get in touch.
The post said: "This is the threat that a colleague and I were faced with yesterday whilst attending a call to a man suffering a mental health crisis.
"Thankfully he was disarmed and it was resolved relatively peacefully.
"Knife crime's a big issue at the moment.
"If you have any information about people habitually carrying knives then feel free to drop me a message. You can also report anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
"Prevention is always better than cure, and the more weapons like this we have off the streets the better."
