SCORES of students in Taunton will be ignoring their text books tomorrow as they protest about man-made climate change.

Banner waving young people armed with megaphones are meeting up outside Clarks shoe shop in High Street for the Youthstrike4climate event.

It is the third consecutive month the students have taken part in a strike and march, with people across the country and Europe also participating.

Last month's protest saw more than 200 students skip classes to meet up in High Street to march down East Street and on to Richard Huish College.

They later assembled on the roundabout in front of the Market House.

A spokesman at the time said: "We are taking a stand to send a powerful message that this issue is significantly more important than even our education. There is no point in going to school if we have no future."
