MAY I, through your letters page, say a big thank you to Carol from Watchet.
She very kindly came to my rescue last week when I was walking along the beach from Doniford to Watchet and managed to maroon myself on a slippery rock surrounded by mud and couldn't see a way back to the top of the beach.
My two Westies were milling around my feet and I was afraid of slipping and falling.
Carol came over to me and guided me back until we were on the sand and then went well out of her way to point me in the right direction (and the footpath) to St Decuman's Church where I was heading as I had come to Somerset to do a bit of family research.
Despite the mud on myself and the dogs we had a lovely day in Watchet and even went on the steam train (after the mud had dried and been brushed off!).
