TAUNTON Town go into the final day of the season tomorrow with a chance of securing back-to-back league titles.

Having romped to the Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West title last season, the Peacocks have been battling at the top again in the Premier Division South this campaign and have more than held their own against the likes of Weymouth and Salisbury.

It is Weymouth who are currently in pole position going into the final day - they have a one-point lead over Taunton at the summit.

Victory for Weymouth at home to Farnborough will see them claim the title and the one automatic promotion spot.

Should Weymouth either draw or lose, the Peacocks would leapfrog them with a win at 17th-placed Basingstoke - who themselves need the points to ensure they are not relegated.

If Taunton fail to win, it is unlikely to matter what Weymouth do - the Terras' goal difference is 10 better off than Taunton's.

Taunton have secured second spot no matter what the results on Saturday – meaning they would have home advantage in the semi-final (and final if they win the semi) of the promotion play-offs.
