A BEEKEEPING taster session will be held near Taunton next month.
On Saturday, June 22, people will be able to find out more about honeybees and see inside a hive thanks to the Taunton Beekeepers group.
Julie Husband, event co-ordinator, said: “We will be giving visitors an overview of what’s involved in keeping bees. They will have the chance to see inside a hive and experience the fascinating world of the honey bee first hand.”
Visitors will be given a talk at the teaching centre at Heatherton Park, near Bradford-on-Tone, and afterwards, weather permitting, will be invited to kit up in bee suits to observe honeybees in the apiary.
The session starts at 2pm. Protective clothing will be provided but people must bring Wellington boots.
To book a place, priced £25, contact Julie Husband at tauntonbeginners@somersetbeekeepers.org.uk or call/text on 07867 782435.
