TWO young men from Bridgwater have died on holiday on Spain's Costa Blanca after falling 30 feet while posing for a photo.

Daniel Mee, 25, and Jayden Dolman, 20, fell in an area known as Punta Prima, near the popular resort of Torrevieja, at around 7.30pm on Wednesday.

A third Bridgwater man, named as Lewis Higgins, 24, who had been taking the photo, was taken to hospital reportedly suffering from shock.

Daniel died at the scene having landed on a hut used by lifeguards, according to The Sun, while Jayden was airlifted to Alicante Hospital with serious injuries and died yesterday in intensive care.

A Guardia Civil source is reported in The Sun as saying: "The local British consulate has been informed.

"It appears the men were taking a photo. The initial reports were that they had fallen from a height of around 40 feet.

"It is too early at this stage to speculate on exactly what happened and the police investigation into the cause is still in its infancy."

Another source is quoted as saying: "Officers will be speaking to the man taken to Torrevieja Hospital as soon as possible to try to build up a better picture of what occurred."

A spokeswoman for the Foreign Office said: "We are supporting the families of two British men following their deaths in Alicante, and are in contact with the Spanish authorities.

"Another British man was involved in the accident, and we are also providing assistance."
