A MAN has been arrested and released under investigation after a car crashed into a front garden in Brean.

Emergency services were called to reports of a car fire at Coast Road in Brean on June 21.

Firefighters from Burnham-on-Sea and police went to the scene and police arrested a man before releasing him under investigation.

Pictures from Burnham-on-Sea Fire Station showed the badly damaged car on its roof in the front garden of a property.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said enquiries into the incident are continuing.

“We were called to reports of a single vehicle crash on June 21 at about 10pm," the spokesman said.

“A man in his 20's was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and assaulting an emergency worker.

“He was released under investigation.”
