A FREE vintage and salvage fair is set to take place in Taunton this weekend.

On Sunday, July 28, the event will take place at Woodlands Castle from 10am until 3pm.

The free event is being hosted by Vintage Picker, a Taunton-based business which has a barn shop in Haydon, near Henlade.

Gemma Bisiker, owner of Vintage Picker, which has been running for three years, decided to put on the event as she often finds herself drive cross-country to trade at flea and antique markets, and wanted to host an event closer to home.

Mrs Bisiker said: “We are delighted to be running the event and are extremely excited to bring the community of traders together to showcase to the local Somerset people all the interesting things we all have to sell.

"It’s all about vintage, salvage, rustic, reclaim and re-use and it’s happening in Taunton.

"We look forward to seeing you there at our Picker's Paradise."

Around 50 traders will be at the market with a variety of goods to sell.

As well as the stalls, there will be classic cars, a bar, and an array of children's activities including facepainting and a bouncy castle.

Those looking to visit the Vintage Picker barn store can go on Fridays between 10.30am until 3pm or on Sundays from noon until 3pm.
