TAUNTON'S Jean Humphreys may have just turned 101 but the former commercial artist still gets her paint brushes out every day.
Jean was joined by family and friends for a small party at Netherclay House residential care home in Bishop's Hull to mark the occasion.
She was born in Cheshire and lived in Lancashire, Yorkshire and Hertfordshire before moving to the Taunton area to be closer to her son, Tony, and daughter-in-law, Rose.
She moved into Netherclay House in May 2016 and has been an active member of Bishop's Hull Art Group.
As a young woman, Mrs Humphreys trained as a commercial artist at Liverpool School of Art.
She has worked in watercolours, produced etchings for many years and still paints every day.
During the Second World War, she worked as a qualified sick children's nurse.
