A MOTORIST cut free from a two-vehicle crash this afternoon has been airlifted to hospital.

Two fire engines from Minehead were called to the incident at Dunkery Hill Road, Wheddon Cross, at 2.16 today (Tuesday).

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Upon arrival crews confirmed a two-vehicle road traffic collision.

"Crews released one casualty using hydraulic cutting equipment by removing the door and roof.

"Both vehicles were made safe and the duty of care was left with the police.

"The casualty was conveyed to hospital via air ambulance."
