A MAN is having "ongoing dental work" three months after an early-hours attack in a Taunton pub.

The 36-year-old man was headbutted in the smoking area outside the bar area of the Plough Inn, in Station Road.

He needed treatment for facial injuries at Musgrove Park Hospital and also suffered a chipped tooth, which police say needs "ongoing dental work".

The victim has described his attacker as a white man, over 6ft tall and stocky, with short blond hair. The suspect was wearing a blue polo shirt with red and white stripes and chino trousers or shorts.

Police investigating the assault have issued an appeal following the incident on Sunday, May 12, between 12.45am and 1.15am.

They have released CCTV footage of a man and a woman they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: "We’d like to speak to this man and woman who were in the pub at around the time.
