SOUTH Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust paramedics will showcase their vehicles, equipment and skills at an event in Taunton this weekend.

Hundreds of people, including families, are expected to attend the open day at Taunton Ambulance Station, in Lisieux Way, on Sunday (August 18), from 11am to 4pm.

The event will feature frontline resources including rapid response cars, ambulance vehicles, and motorcycle response units, as well as the hazardous area response team.

Volunteer community first responders will also be available to talk about their role within the trust.

There will be sessions about how to do lifesaving CPR and how to apply bandaging.

There will also be a bouncy castle, face painting, colouring, and hot and cold refreshments.

Dan Wilshire, operations officer, said: "Weather permitting, this should be a fantastic family orientated time with plenty of hands-on opportunities for those that want to see the vehicles and equipment we use, all guided by our frontline ambulance staff."

Parking is not available on site, but there are plenty of non-permit spaces in the surrounding streets.
