TWO dogs were seen being repeatedly kicked and strangled outside a shop in Taunton.

Members of the public witnessed a dark-haired woman and a girl with blonde hair with a small black dog and a small white dog outside the Co-op store in Priorswood Place, Taunton at around 7.20pm on Wednesday, July 31.

Concerns were raised after the dogs were seen being dragged off the ground by their leads, before cowering after being kicked repeatedly by the younger woman.

After receiving the information, the RSPCA has launched an appeal.

RSPCA inspector Jo Daniel said: "I am very concerned about the welfare of the two dogs and hope someone will be able to identify the people involved from their descriptions.

“The older woman had long dark hair and was wearing black trousers and a black vest and cardigan, while the younger of the two had long blonde hair and was wearing a pale blue t-shirt and blue dungaree shorts with white spots.

"It is so important that we urgently check on the welfare of these dogs so if you know who these people are, please contact us in complete confidence on 0300 123 8018."
