POLICE say they have a "named offender" after a commemorative postbox in the centre of Taunton was vandalised.
The normally red box had been painted white by the Royal Mail to celebrate the three Cricket World Cup matches hosted at Taunton's County Ground this summer.
But vandals spoiled the fun by covering most of one side of the postbox grey.
Police have taken to social media to inform the public that the investigation is being investigated, adding: "We have a named offender."
Contrary to comments made on social media regarding damage to the Cricket World Cup postbox on North Street, we have a named offender and the incident is currently being investigated.
