WEIGHT-LOSS consultant Lisa Clements is celebrating after being recognised for the exceptional work she does to support people in Bridgwater area to achieve their dream weight.

She was one of around 150 high-achieving team developers from across the UK and Ireland invited to Slimming World’s ‘Team Developer Thank You Day’, at the organisation’s head office in Derbyshire. .

Lisa, a consultant for the Bridgwater community church Slimming World group, was invited to the event after being recognised by the company as a leading team developer.

This means that as well as running her own weight-loss group, she is doing an outstanding job of supporting other consultants in Sedgemoor and Mendip to ensure excellent service to slimmers right across the area.

Lisa, who became a consultant after she graduated from the Slimming World Academy in April 2012 was invited to discuss best practice and share her tips on delivering a first-class weight-management service.

They were also treated to a healthy banquet at the company restaurant.

Lisa says: "It was a real honour to be invited to the special day at Slimming World HQ, and in Slimming World’s golden birthday year it feels extra-special.

"The day itself was so inspirational from start to finish.

"To have had the opportunity to meet and share ideas with other top-performing consultants and managers was an experience I’ll never forget.

"Being recognised isn’t just a triumph for me but also for the 1,500 members and Consultants in the Sedgemoor and Mendip groups.

"They’re the ones who make each group the success it is, with their fabulous energy, the warm welcome they give to new members and the wonderful compassionate support they show to each other every week."

Lisa lost weight at a group herself and so knows just how valuable group support can be. Consultants receive in-depth training from the Slimming World Academy to help give their members the support they need to make long-term changes to improve their health and wellbeing as well as passing their new habits on to their family.

Training includes the role of diet and activity in weight management. Crucially, it also includes training in how to help members to lift the guilt and shame they may feel as a result of struggling with their weight and help them to form healthy lifestyle habits.
