THE main entrance to Taunton train station has been closed off after the main doors were damaged in what is believed to be a ram raid.
Staff at the train station, which is based just off Station Road in Taunton, closed off the main entrance this morning (August 24) as the doors have been smashed and damaged by vandals.
A member of staff at Taunton station claims the station entrance was ram raided.
But a spokesperson for The British Transport Police did not confirm reports of a ram raid and said an investigation has been launched into the incident.
The spokesperson said: "We were called at 4.11am this morning (August 24) after a report from a member of the public who heard a loud bang outside Taunton station.
"An investigation into the incident is ongoing."
