A YOUNG driver has appeared in court accused of causing the deaths of three people by dangerous driving.

Madalin Alexandru Dudau, 23, is facing three charges in connection with a triple death crash on the A358 near Ashill on November 11 last year.

Dudau, of Tristram Close, Yeovil, who gave his nationality as Romanian, appeared at Taunton Magistrates' Court last Thursday.

He was released on unconditional bail and will stand trial at Taunton Crown Court.

He is accused of causing the deaths of husband and wife Gerald and Lynda Greening, aged 79 and 70 respectively and from Cullompton, and Catalin Manolache, believed to have bene in his 20s and from Taunton, while driving his Vauxhall Tigra.

Catalin Manolache was a passenger in the Tigra.

Dudau was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol in a critical condition following the horrific collision
