A TALENTED young pianist is coming to Milverton in October.

Isata Kanneh-Mason was in the piano category final of the BBC Young Musician in 2014.

She is from the exceptionally talented Kanneh-Mason family of seven musical siblings, including her younger brother Sheku Kanneh-Mason, cellist.

Isata is currently a Postgraduate at The Royal Academy of Music after she was awarded the Gwendolyn Reiche Memorial Scholarship.

She has also won many awards, from The Royal Academy Iris Dyer Piano Prize (four times) to The Royal Academy Christian Carpenter Recital Prize 2018. Isata also held the Elton John Scholarship for her Undergraduate studies at The Royal Academy and she performed with Sir Elton John in Los Angeles in 2013.

Performing in both the UK and abroad, Isata has played at the Wigmore Hall, The Royal Festival Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields, The Duke’s Hall, The Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham and the Barbican in London.

Abroad, she has performed in The Portland Piano Series in Oregon, USA, in The Barbican Sound Unbound Series, The Colour of Music Festival in South Carolina and many more.

Isata has performed several times on BBC television and radio, including Radio 3 In Tune, Radio 3 RPS Awards, BBC2 The Proms Extra and more. She has performed several times on the BBC including The One Show, the BBC4 documentary: Young, Gifted and Classical, BBC2 Classroom Heroes.

The Milverton Concert Society has been presenting top quality professional concerts since 1987 in St Michael’s Church in Milverton and they are very much looking forward to welcoming Isata this October.Their aim is to offer music of the highest quality with some of the finest performers in the world.
