THE Valais Blacknose, recently dubbed 'the world's cutest sheep', will be sold at Sedgemoor Auction Centre next week.

They originate from the Valais region of Switzerland and recent sales in northern England have seen a ram sell to a staggering 11,000gns.

The sale on Thursday, September 5, is the first sale at Sedgemoor for the Valias Blacknose Society and Greenslade Taylor Hunt at Sedgemoor Auction Centre, the largest livestock market in the country.

The auctioneers have combined this sale with their annual sale for the Rare Breeds Survival Trust, which sees other sheep breeds for sale including Shetland, Kerry Hill, Jacobs and Llanwenog alongside Dexter Cattle, poultry and pigs.

Sedgemoor’s managing partner, Rob Venner said: “We sell around 250,000 sheep each year. Our expert team of auctioneers have knowledge of all breeds and are excited to welcome another society sale to Sedgemoor; with more than 1,000 breeding ewes and 100 suckler cows going under the hammer on the same day, there is plenty of choice and something for everyone.”
