A TAUNTON bingo player go tthe shock of a lifetime when her numbers came up to secure a £50,000 win.

Harriet Bee was enjoying a game at Mecca Bingo Taunton with her parents when the evening took an exciting and unexpected turn as she called ‘house’ on the National Bingo Game, claiming whopping jackpot.

The 28-year-old, who occasionally visits the club on Saturdays with her parents, couldn’t believe her luck following the announcement of her win, followed by a roar of excitement from the customers in the club.

She said: “I was so shocked.

"At first I didn’t realise how much I had won, it was only because other customers started to whisper and then the excitement got louder and louder and then it was announced.

"At first I felt shocked. I couldn’t continue playing, I was shaking and I couldn’t speak properly."

And the mother-of-two said the money would help pay for her wedding day, set for next May, as well as helping finance a home move.

"My dad had to call my partner and tell him," she added.

"It’s such a life changing amount. It’s really going to help towards our wedding next year.”
