TWO Somerset residents are celebrating after scooping £30,000 each in a lottery win.

The winners live in Spinneyfield, Bishops Lydeard, and landed the windfall when TA4 3PD was announced as a winner with People’s Postcode Lottery today (September 26).

A People’s Postcode Lottery’s special campaign sees players in one lucky postcode win £30,000 per ticket each day in September, with a minimum of £17 million being won in this month’s draws.

Offering his congratulations, People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson said: “What an exciting day for our two winners in Bishops Lydeard.

"I hope they both manage to do something nice with the money and enjoy a weekend of celebrations as they let the news sink in that they’ve won a fantastic £30,000 each.”

A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have helped raise more than £474 million to date for good causes across Great Britain and internationally.

This draw was promoted on behalf of British Red Cross, who help anyone, anywhere in the UK and around the world, get the support they need if crisis strikes. Players have raised more than £3 million for British Red Cross so far. That funding is helping people to withstand emergencies, recover and move on with their lives.
