A HOMELESS man who spat at two women in Taunton on separate days has been found guilty of assault by beating.
Thomas Allan Crosbie, 41, denied two charges of assault by beating when he appeared at Taunton Magistrates' Courts on Wednesday.
But he was found guilty following a trial.
The court heard that Crosbie, who gave his address as Lindley House, East Reach, Taunton, spat at one woman in East Street on October 24.
The following day he spat at another woman in Mount Street.
Crosbie was remanded on unconditional bail and ordered to return to the court on November 28.
The term 'assault by beating' does not mean that the victim was actually beaten up or even hit or kicked - it could mean that they were pushed, grabbed or spat at.
