A FAMILY have been reunited with their cat which was reported missing nearly one year ago.
The kitten was reported missing to The Mount Veterinary Hospital in Wellington in December 2018.
Then, on October 22, a cat was brought into the hospital as a stray.
Upon checking its microchip, it was discovered the cat was the same one which has gone missing at the end of last year.
A spokesperson for The Mount Veterinary Hospital said: "They have been finally reunited a year later.
"It just goes to show how important it is to ensure your pet’s microchip is up to date.
"We will always contact the person on the microchip, as that’s all the information we have to go on.
"If you’ve recently re-homed a pet, make sure your details are on their microchip and not a previous owner."
