FIREFIGHTERS were called to a vehicle fire in Yeovil in the early hours of this morning.

A crew from Yeovil was sent to Addlewell Lane at 1.51am today (November 21) to investigate reports of a vehicle fire.

On arrival crews confirmed there was a vehicle well alight and got to work with two breathing apparatus wearers and 1 hose reel jet.

A second fire engine was requested to attend which also came from Yeovil.

The fire was extinguished using one hose reel jet, one compressed air foam (CAFS) jet and two breathing apparatus wearers.

The cause of the blaze, which was well established when the crew arrived, is 'believed to be deliberate', according to a Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson.

The fire service also requested that the police attend and duty of care was left with the police.
