GLASTONBURY Festival founder Michael Eavis will be a guest of honour in his favourite seaside town on Saturday - as he turns on their Christmas lights.

Mr Eavis, 83, will travel from his home in Pilton to the coast to help switch on the Christmas lights in Burnham-on-Sea on Saturday, November 23 - making it a Glaston-Merry Christmas...

He is a long-time supporter of Burnham, stating in a national newspaper interview that the “laid back and unspoilt town” is his favourite place in Somerset.

The 2019 Glastonbury Festival played host to a new area - Glastonbury on Sea.

Mr Eavis will hit the switch on the Christmas lights at 6pm on November 23, next to the town’s Christmas tree in Victoria Street, with the support of the town’s Chamber of Commerce.

Shops will also be opening until late in the town and there will be live entertainment from local musicians and dancers.
