IF you've never sung or if you're tonsils have lapsed for some time, there's a course for men who fancy getting their vocal chords in gear.

The Rivertones Harmony Chorus is running a course early next year designed to encourage more men to take up singing.

Included in the eight-week course will be songs from Adele to the Beatles.

Spokesman Peter Elliston said: "It's aimed at both newcomers and those who haven't sung for a while or indeed ever."

The course runs every Thursday from February 13 until April 2 and is at the Oakwood Church Centre, off Priorswood Road, Taunton.

To register for the Learn to Sing course, e-mail peter.elliston2@btinternet.com or phone 01823-256656.

Meanwhile, the Rivertones, fresh from a performance at Luxborough, are preparing for a busy programme over the festive period.

The group is performing at Carhampton Village Hall on Saturday (November 30) and will be at the Orchard Centre, Taunton, on Saturday, December 7, from 11am to 1pm.

The chorus will take part in a carolothon at St Mary's Church, Bishops Lydeard, the following Saturday (December14).
