A TAUNTON coffee shop is set to close its doors after a year in business.

Brazier Coffee Roasters, which is based in The Brewhouse Theatre and Arts Centre in the Coal Orchard, announced it will be closing on Saturday (November 30 ) to focus on their wholesale coffee roasting and headquarters in Wellington.

The shop opened in the theatre in 2018 and sold a selection of coffees, cakes and seasonal lunch dishes.

In a statement posted on Facebook bosses from The Brewhouse Theatre said they wish Brazier the best of luck for the future and revealed the theatre has plans for a new cafe in the pipeline.

The post said: "Coffee drinkers and cake lovers of Taunton, please note that Brazier will pour their last espressos, lattes and Americano's at The Brewhouse this Saturday.

"They have made the decision to focus on their wholesale coffee roasting and Wellington HQ and we’re wishing them the best of luck with their future endeavours.

"We’re excited to announce the opening of our new café project very soon and know that you’re going to love what we’ve got lined up next.

"But for now, as our Christmas spectacular The Railway Children rushes toward Brewhouse Central, you can continue to enjoy our Bar & Kiosk areas during performances, stocked full of snacks, ice creams and drinks to keep a smile on your face while you enjoy the show."

Tom Brazier, owner of Brazier Coffee Roasters, said they enjoyed their time at the theater but it is time for them to move on.

"The decision to leave the Brewhouse was taken over a couple of months. It was always a two year contract and at the end of the contract we chose not to renew it," Tom said.

"For us we had a great time there but it is just time for us to move on.

"We are extemely busy with our wholesale coffees and we have just doubled our business in the last year.

"We have just expanded and taken on new projects in Wellington.

"It is a shame to be moving on."
