ONE of chef Gary Rhodes' most famous dishes is back on the menu at Taunton's Castle Hotel.

The TV chef, who was set on the road to stardom at the Taunton hotel, was known for a host of delicious dishes, which earned Michelin stars at his restaurants.

Among them was his famous bread and butter pudding.

And over the weekend, Castle Hotel director Kit Chapman announced the dish was returning to the menu, recreated by current head chef, Liam Finnegan.

"As a memorial tribute to Gary Rhodes, head chef (Liam Finnegan) has recreated his Bread ‘n Butter Pudding," Mr Chapman wrote on Twitter.

Mr Rhodes passed away last week in Dubai at the age of 59.

It has been confirmed he died after suffering bleeding on the brain.

Me Chapman was among those who paid tribute to the chef, saying "a truly great British chef is gone".
