THERE are many Christmas events to keep you entertained at the museum of Somerset this month. Santa will be setting up his grotto in the alms house for visits every Saturday in December and children can follow the Elf Trail around the museum.

On Friday, December 13 the museum’s Curator of Social History, Bethan Murray, will give a ‘Christmas Traditions’ talk exploring the traditions that are so much a part of this special time of year.

On Wednesday, December 18, there will be ‘A Somerset Christmas’ which will offer an evening of carols and stories.

The evening includes performances from Wood Street Community Choir and Somerset readings from chief-executive of the South West Heritage Trust, Tom Mayberry.

From December 27 until January 4, there will be a museum trail themed around the Twelve Days of Christmas. Visit museumofsomerset.org.uk or call 01823 255088
