Both crews from Minehead fire station were sent to the incident, which involved a tumble dryer, in Marshfield Road at 9.15pm.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said on arrival, the crews found the dryer was 'well alight'.

"The fire had spread to the shed, which was located in the garden of a domestic premises," they said.

"Crews isolated the electrics to the shed and extinguished the fire using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and a thermal image camera.

"The fire was safely extinguished and the crews prevented any fire from spreading to any other areas of the garden."

Crews confirmed that the cause of the fire was accidental, the spokesperson added.
