SINCE the election, the EU Withdrawal Bill has been passed, the sale of Cobhams to a US venture capitalist company has been approved, the Dubs Amendment supporting refugee children has been undermined and the prime minister’s holiday flight to the Caribbean has been announced.

All this would seem to indicate that the EU is bad, venture capitalism is good, humanity towards others is bad and flying is good.

This last matter will set up a major brush with Environmental campaigners. Flying is particularly bad for Climate Change.

All this is set against a background of devastating floods in England and catastrophic fires in Australia.

Expect worse in 2020, which is absolutely the year when we should have a clear vision of the future.
