POLICE have confirmed that the death of a 60-year-old woman at the Dunster Castle Hotel on New Year's Eve is not being treated as suspicious.

Police and ambulance personnel were called out to the hotel on Dunster High Street around 8am on January 31.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said today (Friday, January 3): “A post-mortem examination, carried out yesterday, confirmed the cause of death as being consistent with a fall down stairs.

“We’ll be making further enquiries on behalf of the Coroner’s Office.

“Our thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.”
