MOTORISTS set to face four days will be relieved - temporarily at least - to hear major roadworks in West Somerset have been postponed.
Advanced warning signs had been put out saying the A39 at Washford would be closed for five days from February 3 to allow Wessex Water to install a new main.
The roadworks even prompted the MP to urge motorists to have 'patience and understanding' about the work.
However Wessex Water has today confirmed the works had been postponed and the signs were put out by mistake.
