RESIDENTS of South Somerset are celebrating again after another postcode lottery win for the district.

Two people in Crewkerne are celebrating today (Monday) after winning £1,000 each thanks to their lucky postcode.

The neighbours netted the windfall when TA18 7RG was announced as a Daily Prize winner with People’s Postcode Lottery on January 27.

This comes just a few weeks after nine Chard residents also pick up £1,000 each.

The Gifford Road residents, with postcode TA20 1BP, won on January 3.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt sent her well-wishes to the Crewkerne winners.

She said: “What an amazing start to the week. Congratulations to our winners, I hope they enjoy their winnings.”

A minimum of 32 per cent of ticket sales goes directly to charities, and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised over £500 million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.

"This draw was promoted by the Wildlife Trusts, which have received more than £11.3 million in funding from the players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

"The Wildlife Trusts look after more than 2,300 nature reserves and operate more than 100 visitor and education centres across the country. The trusts work to make life better for wildlife, people and future generations."

Many good causes close to the winners have also benefitted from players’ support, and local charities can apply for funding now.

Funds from the January 3 lottery draw went to Save the Children, which has received over £8.2 million from People’s Postcode Lottery players.

It supports children to be safe and healthy and provides access to resources and education. It works to build a brighter future for children across the UK and around the world.
