VANDALS have damaged the elegant gates at the entrance to Taunton's Vivary Park.
The damage at the county town's 'jewel in the crown' was discovered this morning (Sunday).
James Hassett, chief executive at Somerset West and Taunton Council, which owns the park, popped down to survey the damage.
The incident has been reported to the police.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information should call police on 101 quoting reference 5220032745.
