MOTORISTS heading north on the M5 will be able to pick up a coffee on the go at a new Costa Drive Thru at Taunton Deane Services.

The £500,000 facility is Roadchef's 22nd Costa Drive Thru and is creating ten jobs, including trained baristas, customer service and management roles.

The latest development follows the opening of a Costa Drive Thru on the southbound services between Taunton and Wellington last September.

Customers will be able to buy fresh coffee as well as a full range of sandwiches, cakes and snacks without stepping out of the vehicles.

Gary Lumsden, site director at Roadchef Taunton Deane, said: "Knowing how popular the southbound Costa Drive Thru has been since its arrival in September, we’re confident that visitors will enjoy our northbound location just as much.

"The additional offering gives our customers more on-the-go options than ever before.

"Whether passing through on a daily commute or taking a break from a long journey, Roadchef Taunton Deane has something to suit all needs."

He added that Roadchef Taunton Deane welcomes more than three million motorists through its door each year.

Roadchef chief executive Mark Fox said: "We are pleased to announce the opening of our 22nd Costa Drive Thru.

"The additional site at Taunton Deane demonstrates the popularity of the the brand and our commitment to giving visitors on-the-go options they really want.

"We continue to invest in the very best facilities for our customers and hope that in doing so, we will de-stress and delight road users across the country, making their journeys as enjoyable as possible."
