19 DAYS of roadworks on a village road have been postponed after complaints were made it was too short notice.
Notice was given for 19 days of roadworks to take place along Payton Road, from the junction with Rockwell Green westwards for around 40 metres.
The work was set to begin on February 24.
But, the works have been postponed until further notice, after Somerset county councillor Andy Govier voiced concerns.
A spokesperson for Wellington Town Council said: "Following the recent road closure notification from Somerset County Council, councillor Andy Govier contacted SCC raising both residents and the town council's concerns regarding the insufficient notification of the closure.
"We are pleased to announced that the road closure has been postponed until further notice."
