Four Crosses Medical Centre will re-open next month following major redevelopment works.

Powys Teaching Health Board said the medical centre is expected to re-open on Monday, March 9.

The medical centre has been temporarily closed since January 2 while building works takes place to expand facilities including three GP consulting rooms, a phlebotomy and treatment room, and an expanded waiting area.

Llanfyllin Group Practice team said they are "delighted" that the work is progressing on schedule.

"Once Four Crosses Medical Centre re-opens there will still be some work to complete to the phlebotomy room, waiting room, and car park", they said. "But, we do not anticipate any further periods of closure as work will mainly take place outside surgery opening hours.

“This redevelopment will significantly improve the facilities we are able to offer in Four Crosses, and we apologise that this requires a temporary closure whilst building work takes place”.

During the temporary closure of Four Crosses Medical Centre the practice has put in place face to face appointments from their surgeries in Llanfyllin and Llanrhaeadr. Repeat prescriptions have been available through a local delivery service to the Premier Store (RJ&JE Lewis) petrol filling station in Llandrinio.

Llanfyllin Group Practice provides primary care medical services for over 10,000 people in north Powys and north west Shropshire. Their services include Four Crosses Medical Centre, Llanrhaeadr Medical Centre and Llanfyllin Medical Centre.
