Police and ambulances were called to Plumstead on Wednesday evening, February 19, after a man was stabbed metres away from the police station.
Witnesses reported seeing a "big police presence" and a police cordon on St Nicholas Road around 7pm as officers and London Ambulance Service attended.
They found a man suffering from a stab wound by Plumstead Gardens, but no arrests were made and enquires continue into the circumstances behind the incident.
The man has been taken to hospital in a non-life threatening or life-changing condition.
