A NEW hydrotherapy pool for physiotherapy patients could be built in a hospital in a village outside Taunton.
A planning application has been submitted for the new facility at the physiotherapy department at Dene Barton Community Hospital, in Dene Road, Cotford St Luke.
The pool along with changing facilities would be housed in a single-storey extension into the existing rear garden.
A statement accompanying the application lodged with Somerset West and Taunton Council says: "The physiotherapy department at Musgrove Park Hospital moved to Dene Barton Community Hospital during the winter of 2018.
"This left some facilities still at the main hospital site, including the existing hydrotherapy pool, thus splitting some of the physiotherapy services.
"The intention of these proposals is to place a smaller hydrotherapy pool at Dene Barton, thus combining the services once more and enabling the existing pool are at MPH to be re-purpose.
