A SPECIAL visitor helped pupils at Knights Templar First School in Watchet learn about the importance of Remembrance.
Tina Yaw, a local representative of the Royal British Legion, visited Knights Templar last week together with a giant cardboard poppy man. And pupils raised nearly £50 for the legion by covering him in two pence coins.
The school also gave lessons about the importance of Remembrance and sold poppies throughout last week.
Acting head teacher Anne-Marie Saunders said: "Tina approached us and asked us to help which we very happy to do.
"We wanted to raise money for the legion but also wanted to raise awareness because we didn't think the children knew enough about the need to raise money for servicemen."
