THE man who died after a tragic crash at a car park in Taunton has been named by police.
Keith Hobbs, 62, died at Musgrove Park Hospital after the crash at Taunton's multi-storey carpark, Paul Street, on Saturday, March 7.
A car had approached the exit ticket barrier and had stopped.
Mr Hobbs, from Bridgwater, who was travelling in the car behind, got out of the vehicle to speak with the driver in front.
As he was returning, the vehicle reversed, hitting him and causing him to fall.
He suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where he sadly died later that day.
The driver, a woman, was not arrested but will be attending the police station voluntarily to be interviewed.
A police spokesperson said: “We attended an incident at a multi storey car park in Paul Street in Taunton on Saturday at about 3.45pm.
“A vehicle was in collision with a man, who received treatment.
“He was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital but sadly died shortly afterwards.
“Force collision investigators are carrying out enquiries into the incident.”
Police enquiries into the incident are continuing.
