A TEENAGER who drove without the correct insurance has been banned from driving for half a year.

Olutola Paul Adebowale was found driving on Popley Way on January 8 without the correct policy of insurance in place.

The 19-year-old Lawrence Close resident pleaded guilty in February via single justice procedure and was sentenced earlier this month by magistrates in Aldershot.

He was fined £130, made to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £40 in costs and disqualified from driving for six months.

TWO drivers have been given three penalty points on each of their licences after they were caught speeding on the A34 last year.

Marta Adamczyk, 29, of Southampton, and James Cole, 43, of Sheffield, were found driving over the speed limit on the A34 Northbound, near Whitchurch, on October 10, 2019.

Ms Adamczyk had been driving a black Volkswagen at 81mph while Mr Cole was travelling in a re Mitsubishi at 79mph.

The pair pleaded guilty via single justice procedure and were each given three points on their respective licences.

Ms Adamczyk was fined £146 and made to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.

Mr Cole was fined £223 and made to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.

A BASINGSTOKE man caught driving at 61mph on a Hampshire motorway has been convicted of a speeding offence.

Timothy Wye, of Normanton Road, was clocked driving at 61mph on the M27 Eastbound, between Junctions 4 and 5, on August 14, last year.

There is a temporary 50mph limit on the road as Highways England continues work to turn it into a smart motorway.

Wye pleaded guilty to the offence at Aldershot magistrates court and was fined £100 and made to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £80 in costs.

The 61-year-old was also hit with three points on his driving licence.

A MAN found speeding at 92mph on the M3 near Basingstoke will be sentenced in Aldershot next month.

Nathan Flower, of Rode Common Farm, in Trowbridge, was found breaking the speed limit on the motorway near Junction 7 on October 15, last year.

He was proved guilty via single justice procedure, and also found to have failed to give information to a police officer in Winchester the day before Christmas eve in a second offence.

The case was adjourned until May 21 to consider a disqualification from driving.

A BASINGSTOKE driver will stand trial in June after denying a pair of driving offences.

Banica -Marin Oprea was found driving a Vauxhall Astra in Cromwell Road on November 8, last year.

He was alleged to have been doing so without the correct insurance in place, and also while he was disqualified from driving.

The 21-year-old Rubens Close resident will stand trial at Basingstoke magistrates court on June 15.

A MAN has been made to pay more than £300 and given three penalty points on his licence after speeding on the M3.

Yasser Azim, of Landdowne Road, Chesham, was clocked driving an Audi at 84mph on the M3 near Junction 7 on September 19, last year.

The 40-year-old was proved guilty via single justice procedure and fined £220.

A £32 victim surcharge and £85 in costs took his total bill to £337.
