POLICE have confirmed that the M3 was briefly closed this evening as they dealt with a “concern for welfare”.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said that police were called at 4.30pm to a concern for welfare after reports that a man had been spotted on the Greywell Road bridge.
Officers attended and the situation was said to be resolved.
The motorway was closed for around an hour, with the stretch between Junction 5, for Hook, and Junction 6, for Basingstoke, affected in both directions.
However, the police spokesperson confirmed that the road has since been reopened.
